I spent a day at SalonQP in London. After having been to Munichtime before this event, I had a good comparison. The set of exhibitors at both fairs is quite different. I saw Lange & Söhne at both events. Lang & Heyne was there as well at both. But many other brands that exhibited in Munich were not in London and reverse. London seemed to have a mich higher level of watchmaking, especially when it comes to independent watchmakers, and even more so when it comes to the very high end of watchmaking. Considering that Munich is a very wealthy city and possibly the wealthiest city in Germany, I find this surprising. At the same time, I did not understand why Gshock and some other lower end brands were presenting in the environment of Bayrischer Hof Hotel? I do not mean to offend a brand or anybody, just thinking and trying to understand why it was like that? I guess that is what we do, we think about things that may have no meaning or the meaning may be there but it may not be as important as we may think? Who knows…
Now, lets talk watches. I shot pictures of quite a few during SalonQP. And I will share them with you here.
