After Baselworld: was this the nicest timepiece of Baselworld 2017? Breguet Ref. 7147 in Rosegold?

Sitting in a room full with press representatives, we all came to agree that this is one of the nicest watches we have been allowed to put on our wrists during Baselworld 2017.  I know, beauty lies in the eye of the beholder.  But men and ladies alike both fell in love with this watch.  I have never seen anything like that before.

IMG_8771The look of this timepiece is very classy and timeless.  The dial is an enamel dial grand feu with Breguet numerals and Breguet hands.  That is how watchconnaisseurs call the dial with arabic numerals like this.

The rosegold case is 40mm.  A very comfortable size.  In addition, this watch also comes in a white gold case which we were unfortunately not shown.

The thin lugs are welded to the case and the strap is held with screwed bars.

The dial has such a vintagy and old style look, the only distraction is the offset seconds indication which gives this watch a unique and different feel.  While some people may look at this watch on pictures and think “what were they thinking with the offset seconds?”, I believe it gives this watch an additional touch of a special timepiece.  By no means had I the impression that the seconds should be rather in the center location or at least in the middle of the dial from a vertical perspective.

Above you see the tags with reference numbers.  It looks a bit funny with the 2016 date as Baselworld took place in 2017, but this was most likely the time of production.

This watch comes with a sapphire crystal front and back.  In many ways this is a signature piece of Breguet.

Look at the fluted sides of the case?  That is one of the typical characteristics of Breguet timepieces, for a long time already, if you recall the Type 20 watches.

The lugs have a rounded end with the screw holding the strap.  The lugs are so fine and thin, that I believe this was the way to make room for the screws.

This is a side view on the crown and the fluted sides.  It shows how thin the case is. The movement is even thinner.

Above you see the simple gold buckle for the strap.
IMG_8714Ultimately, I cannot miss a wristshot.  Wearing Breguet watchmakers glove for the wristshot.  How do you like this timepiece?
IMG_8709
The room at Breguet was highly lit so you see light reflections in this shot above.
IMG_8707
I could not stop shooting pictures from all angles.  It was a lot of fun.
IMG_8701
The enamel dial is one dial only.  The seconds dial was not made as a separate dial, but instead is integrated in the original dial creation.  A smart move.  The above picture shows you clearly how it was done.

The extrathin movement is actually an automatic winding movement.  Usually, extrathin movement carry handwind movements as they tend to be thinner.  Here you see a slight offcentered automatic winding rotor.  The finishing of the movement is adequate for a watch at this pricepoint.

The movement is just 2.4mm thin.  Not sure if that makes it the thinnest self-winding movement?  Anyhow, Breguet denominates this the  calibre 502.3SD.

Bridges carry Geneva stripes the old fashioned way.  A beauty to look at.

I will leave the decision if this was possibly the nicest watch of Baselworld 2017 up to you, the readers.  For me, it belongs to the top 3.
