What a day this must have been for Omega. The limited edition Speedmaster “Speedytuesday” based on Robert Jan Broer’s hashtag sold out in one day via Instagram. This is a limited edition of 2012 pieces as Robert-Jan started using the hashtag in 2012.
The watch is based on the historic Alaska Project watch from 1978.
Here you have a wristshot of this piece. I love the white totalisors and on the black dial. The large numbers on the totalisors are a reminiscence to the old Speedmaster Alaska Project.
I would offer you the link where to order this watch, but that makes no sense any more as all 2012 pieces are accounted for and are sold out now. I guess we will see how many will soon pop up on Chrono24 and other websites for the double or triple the price. Is 2017 bringing back the boom for modern watches?
