Loading...Last time I met with Parmigiani Fleurier in Montreux, I walked the streets of Montreux and passed by a jeweler who was displaying Parmigiani’s timepieces. There was one timepiece which caught my eye and attention. While I pointed at the watch and asked about the backgrund and making of it, Udo explained to me that this is the Tonda 1950 Edition Speciale and is made of Titanium and the dial goes through a galvanisation process to give it the looks.
The dial reveals the beauty of the mechanics. Its concentric circular “grille” shape, made using the LIGA* technique, reveals glimpses of the gear trains.

This timepiece is made in a limited edition of 60 pieces of which most are already sold out.
It possesses an automatic movement with a platinum microrotor which provides a powerreserve of 42 hours. The rotor is beautiful decorated and can be viewed through the sapphire crystal.
