Rolex Datejust ref. 1601 with Sigma dial                                                             

The sigma dial indicates that the indices are made of white gold.  They cannot rust therefore.  And gold obviously is more precious than steel.  

Sigma dials are rarer than the usual dials. 

The Rolex Datejust 1601 has a gold fluted bezel and has a 36mm steel case.  This is „the“ Rolex.  Everybody recognizes it immediately with the loupe on the dial. 

The plexy is a service plexy.  Everything else on the watch is original from the time it was made. 

This is a wonderful daily wearer, especially with the stretched jubilee bracelet.
