This is a truly rare find. Please bear with me as I will post pictures asap. This Speedy has still all original parts, the few things in the movement that needed to be replaced are included.
This 105.012 is the reference that landed on the moon in 1969. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin wore a 105.012 from 1965. The bracelet is a reference 1171. I know that those purists among you believe it is the “wrong” reference, but the first owner explicitly asked for this bracelet back in 1970 when he bought the watch. This was his dream watch he always wanted and he wore it all his life. He treated it with care however which shows in the condition.
My watchmaker made a full and comprehensive revision. As far as he could tell which was also in concordance with the first owner, the watch was worn a lifetime without a single revision. So this was the first revision. It was done by my watchmaker who is a former Omega watchmaker and who has the official license for Omega.
To find this watch in such honest condition has become quite difficult as all those know who collect Speedies. So I am offering you this wonderful piece here.
After all I can hear from talking to the first owner’s son, the watch has never been polished. I did not have it polished either. So you can still enjoy the original scratches from the first owner.
