Wristlet is an artisan bronze mechanical timepiece, inspired by WWI trench watches.

The Trench watch (Wristlet) was a type of watch that came into use by the military during World War I, as pocket watches were not practical in combat. Some soldiers began strapping their pocket watches onto their wrists and this is how the first wrist watch was born.

Because was born in the trenches of the combat fields is was called Trench Watch or Wristlet.

This is where the name of my watch comes.

Wristlet is completely hand made bronze watch.

I am using Bronze CuSN 8 for the case and brass for the lugs and buckles. Bronze is one of my favourite materials. I love to see how its changes during the time-from copper red, to dark bronw or patina green.

Love the way it patinates. All the watches will be shipped in polished condition, but it is possible to get darker during the shipping.

Lugs are made of brass wire, patents are made of 1 mm brass plate, buckles are 3 mm brass plate.

The strap is also handmade by me. I am using 2 mm vegetable tanned italian leather. For the dyeing I am using a very old and traditional method of dyeing with rust, called Vinegaroon. This method gives vintage look and I think it goes really well with the bronze and brass.

The heart of the watch is Sea-Gull ST3600 mechanical movement. This movement is an exact clone of Unitas 6497. There are many articles and forum threads about the quality of ST3600. This is the reason I decided to use this easier to find and cheaper, but reliable watch movement.

The dial is a “sandwitch dial” made of high luminous material (imported from Japan) and painted stainless steel. The dial’s material is very reactive and need just few minutes of sun exposure to glow as torch.

Movement: Sea-Gull 3600, 17 JEWELS, 21600 bph, 50 hours power reserve

Crystal: front and back mineral glass

Case diameter: without crown 42 mm, with crown 48 mm.

Crown diameter: 10 mm.

Case thickness: 13 mm.

Strap: 22 mm.

Each watch will be packed in hand made solid wooden box.

The box is made of birch wood, then sandblasted and completed to black charcoal finish. Please see the pictures:
