The last year was one of if not the most interesting year since I am running my watchbusiness. I founded my Company on January 5th in 2010. 11 years later, i went through an insane learning curve and met so many wonderful watchmakers in Switzerland and Germany. Switzerland has grown to my heart since while still loving my homecountry.
I met Daniel Roth last year for a day long meeting including lunch. His watches and his life are both incredibly fascinating.
Daniel Roth revived Breguet before founding the company carrying his name. Nowadays he only makes 2 watches a year on what I consider the highest level of watchmaking. His 2 minute tourbillon is a dream.
As you can see above, Daniel Roth makes two different cases, one is a his round cased tourbillon, the other a violin cased tourbillon. It has been a great honor meeting such a wonderful gentleman.
What I find extremely interesting and unique is the finishing of the bridges of Daniel’s timepieces. We all know Geneva stripes which correspond to basically a quarter circle. Daniel has a completely unique and different approach in finishing. He creates a half circle. I have been to over 100 watchmakers in Switzerland over the past decade, this kind of finishing I have never before seen anywhere.
The journey through independent watchmaking is just beginning. So many interesting projects are in the works. I am very grateful for being allowed to do this and for the support of my most wonderful clients. Thank you to all who believe in me. Have a great day.
Sharing wristshots with you finally. The round watch has a 38mm diameter for those who like to know. The movement of his watches has been designed by himself and took about 4-5 years.
I will continue my story in independent watchmaking with more stories soon. Stay tuned.
