I just visited Hublot for the third time. Last time I was in Nyon, they “only” had one old building where all manufacturing and administration was housed. This has changed significantly due to the success of the brand. Revenue has nearly increased 20 fold, and Hublot is doing a lot of research on materials and technology. I will come back to that at a later point. There are a lot of interesting new developments going on. It is safe to say that Hublot was a good buy for LVMH…
So now when you cross the new bridge, you get to the new building.
Isn’t the new building a beautiful design? Modern? Just like a Hublot timepiece? The view is right from the bridge.
So I guess let’s talk watches. When I visited, the amount of watches to photograph was quite limited, because it was during SIHH. So I need to have two trips to shoot pictures, one in Nyon and one in Geneva, everything on the same day and all that during a nasty snowstorm which was hitting the region that day. Oh well. Below you see some pictures of current models which come from older collections.
Below is the first Big Bang, this model is still offered by Hublot and was first introduced in exactly the same looks as this one in 2005:
The carbon dial complements the rosegold case nicely.
Here comes the Ultra Thin, with a very classy and timeless design.
The watch feels very light on your wrist, not only because it is so thin, but because it is made of Titanium.
Personally, I find this Aerofusion Moonphase my favorite. The Sapphire dial with applied indices looks very interesting, it is an eye catcher, and captures your attention so you keep looking trying to find something new on the dial every time you look at it. A great idea, well done, Hublot.
The Aerofusion Moonphase was just introduced in January during SIHH. It is part of the new lineup. Three different versions are available which can be viewed on the Hublot website including a King Gold version, Titanium and Black Magic.
I will post more from my visit. Stay tuned.
