News: MB&F introducing new Sapphire cased HM6

You probably remember the crazy designed timepiece called HM6?

Well, MB&F “modernized” it now.  The new piece has a different inspiration, derived from the American Greyhound bus which finds its implementation in the case.

Now look at the case… pretty obvious, isn’t it?

Designing and making such a case is all but easy.  You may recall that I mentioned a watch called Vergo Avius in one of my blogposts in the pasts.  The watchmaker had a similar casedesign on a Titanium case while the HM6 has a Rose gold case.

To make things even more complicated, the new HM6 has a front and back Sapphire case.  Yes, with round shapes and incredible difficult to machine.  One mistake during the production process and the sapphire case can be started from scratch again.

The cool thing about this is that you can see all the inner working from the front and back.  Really an amazing view.  Expected pricing will be in the area of 350000 to 400000 CHF, and there will be a Rose gold and Platinum piece, both limited to 10 pieces only.  The likelyhood to see this watch on the wrist in the wild is close to none.  Unfortunately, but the production processes are so complicated that I am assuming it will not be possible to make more than that.

In the meanwhile, enjoy the pictures.

The blued automatic gives you a free view on the rest of the movement, I assume that is possible because it is made of Platinum and heavy enough to create enough energy to power this timepiece.

MB&F keeps getting better everytime I see them.
