This is a stunning example of a vintage Rolex Submariner Big Crown from the late 1950s. It is reference 6538 (there is also another reference 5510 which is called a “Big Crown”). This example carries a little later service dial with Tritium indices as marked below 6 o’clock. Nevertheless, this dial is at least as beautiful as most original Radium dials. It just does not radiate as much… I have met with collectors when supporting the new watchcalendar for my friend Bert and there will be more intersting watches coming…
