Hanhart retro chronograph with red snail-tachymeter dial (tachytele)

Hanhart retro chronograph with red snail-tachymeter dial (tachytele)

This is a modern reinterpretation of an old vintage Hanhart which was made for German Luftwaffe as well.  The red pusher is a characteristic signature of Hanhart, and the red telemeter and red “snail scale” or “snail tachymeter” add to the beauty of this modern retro looking Hanhart Chronograph.

Hanhart is based in the Black Forest in Germany.  The company has been around since 1882.  Their Chronographs have been used by German soldiers during World War 2, and later by German Bundeswehr.  Recently the company changed ownership.  And is now looking to connect to its past while establishing itself anew.

IMG_0928In my eyes, this dial design belongs to some of the most beautiful dial layouts and designs I have seen.  And while the modern issue looks very close to the vintage issue, you still cannot compare the two.  Vintage rules in its own right.  Actually, for a picture of the vintage model, check the links at the end of this post.  Meanwhile, enjoy the pictures and the wristshow.
