Hublot Flyback Chronograph Super B review

Hublot Flyback Chronograph Super B review

My friends know how much I like chronographs.  While this Hublot Chronograph looks like any other Chronograph at first sight, it has one additional function: a flyback mechanism.

All a flyback does is to reset the seconds hand to zero and immediately start running again.  This function surely has many applications for example in sports, racing, etc..

Hublot did an interesting job by taking an ETA movement and adding a module to achieve the flyback functionality.

Lets talk about the case, the crown, the dial, about the things you can see from just looking at the watch.  The 42mm sized steel case and the black dial really have a refreshing look.  While the case has plished and brushed accents, the red surrounding numbers on the dial give the watch a special and refreshing look.  The sapphire glas is antiglare which really helped taking photographs of closeup dial perspectives.

Take a look at the watch as a whole:

Some closeup shots of the dial:

The rubberized crown is easy to wind.  A touch of black which goes in synch with newer Hublot models.

I would like to close with words of Mr. Biver, former CEO of Hublot:  “(Hublot) must have grown faster than its image was able to keep up with…”.  In the perception of many of us collectors and watchlovers, we remember Hublot as a company that was making quartz timepieces.  Not any more, by now, Hublot has their own movements, they are making their cases and are doing a lot of research into future composite materials.  They are a company that has grown tremendously, faster than we can imagine, and they have grown only with their own funding.  Now they are part of LVMH, however, Mr. Biver is still the spirit behind Hublot and will be for a long time to come hopefully.

Spread the love
