My not so secret obsession with beautiful movements

My not so secret obsession with beautiful movements

What do you cherish most on a mechanical watch? The front or the back, or the inside?

For me, I have quite an obsession with beautiful movements and I like to view them. Be they automatic or handwound, it does not make a difference to me.

I like to watch the intricate mechanics at work, and the finishing of each wheel and part. And for that matter, I see only few companies really achieving the best fisnishing.

In my eyes, Lange & Soehne is at the forefront of the most perfect finishing of movements. Beaten maybe by Philippe Dufour, but unfortunately, I do not have any pictures of the Simplicity or Duality.

So the pictures below come from my friend Andreas who loves to shoot the best pictures I can imagine. Only the Grönefeld movement show was taken by myself as well as the Andreas Strehler shots.
