Orlinski, world’s bestselling contemporary french artist, designedor more accurately sculpted the latest timepiece made by Hublot. Richard Orlinski became one of the most famous and respected french sculptors and artists in just a few years. A stellar success story.
Richard’s sculptures are quite edgy and remind you partially of a Stealth airplane. This edgyness has clearly been transferred over to the new watchcase. While the bezel is held by the same kind of screws as all Hublots are known for, the overall casedesign is quite different. There are 12 edges on the bezel. Yes, it still looks somehow like a bullseye, yet it doesn’t really.
Richard’s sculptures are known all over the world. They are sometimes painted in strong colors. Popart at its best. Recognition factor equaling 100%. I am sure that is what attracted Hublot and Richard to create a watch together. And I find this timepiece to be a 110% success. Sad that it will be limited to 200 pieces only.
The new Hublot Aerofusion still shows the characteristic features of a Hublot, yet somehow displays a completely different expression. A very refreshing expression which I find extremely pleasant and attractive if I may input my personal opinion here.
