The HTE 36mm is based on the original Rolex Explorer I, and honouring Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay as the first to set foot on the top of Mount Everest, the world’s highest mountain in 1953.
The new Rolex Explorer I has been the inspiration for the HTE 39mm, and is dedicated to the first & second generation to the top as Sir Edmund Hillary and Peter Hillary were the first father/son duo to reach the top of Mount Everest.
Next to the set of 3 watches, the limited Hillary Tenzing Edition comes with several custom-made items commemorating the 1953 Everest expedition such as a unique silver mountaineering pin and a special HTE edition of the book Everest by the late George Band.
