News: LVMH’s Monsieur Biver dropping operations role

I would like to wish you a happy birthday first, Monsieur Biver!

This is surprising news.  While I knew about Mr. Biver’s health issues, it seemed that he has them very much under control and wants to continue another 6 to 7 years as documented in the below video which is in German made by the Swiss Rundfunk (Swiss television).  However, maybe this is the time to spend more time with his family.  He decided to drop his operations role and said that he will be “staying non-executive president of LVMH’s watch unit and its three watch brands, TAG Heuer, Zenith and Hublot”.

Mr. Biver is regarded as one of the possibly most charismatic and passionate minds behind the Swiss watch industry.  He turned around Blancpain, then the Omega (Gold) watch branch, then he took the helm at Hublot which he made very successful.  His recent accomplishment is the successful turnaround of Tag Heuer and he even managed to bring Zenith back on track.  Zenith posted over 30% sales growth in 2017.  This is just the beginning and Zenith has a way to go, Mr. Biver’s accomplishment are admirable.

We wish you the best of health, Mr. Biver.  And I hope you will continue to share your experiences and knowledge with us.
