Dear visitors to my blog. A couple of days ago, on March 30, 2010, I have been defrauded of a Rolex Day Date 2 in Platinum in Cologne, Germany. The theft was a horrible experience, considering the situation which I will describe furthermore down in this blog, and the high value of this watch (39000 Euros).

As soon as time permits, I will post this story in German as well.

First, the Serial number of the stolen watch is:

V744551

The reference is 218206.

The watch is a Rolex Day date in Platinum, a very heavy and thick watch, 41mm.

The watch was stolen in Cologne Germany when meeting a potential buyer. The buyer was introduced to me by a socalled friend.

There is a police report with case number:

601000-096831-10/1

Should anyone be offered this watch for sale, please contact me via Email, or the Police department in Cologne, phone number +49-221-229-8553. This is the phone number reponsible for this case.

I know this watch may never show up again. But then again, who knows? And, this may serve as a source for watch dealers and buyer alike to verify that their watch is not stolen.

I expect that this watch may travel around the world. Rolex and the police all have documentation on the case.

As soon as I have more time, I will write down the story how the fraud happened. Meanwhile, bear with me. Thank you for visiting.

So many people who know me have contacted me in the last days, and my story has sent a shiver across the collector’s community as it appears. Anyone could become a victim of such people any time. All we can do, is be cautious. Noone in the world can protect us from something like this.

I will not discuss this any further as this is not in my hands any more, the police is taking care of this situation, and my job is not to be a policeman.

Thank you to those who mentioned my typo of the date.

I need time for myself, to collect myself and continue with my life and job.

Spread the love
