Yes, you can find them, true vintage treasures in NOS condition. It doesn’t happen often, but sometimes, it does. This timepiece belongs to one of these rare exceptions.
This is a Breitling Chronograph from the 1970s, the reference is 7104. A very untypical Breitling watch, the case can be pushed out, and the bezel is just a simple kind of plastic bezel, it does not feel very firm.
The good thing about vintage watches from first owners which are in NOS condition, is that they are untouched, no parts were changed or swapped. That is when you truly know that a vintage watch is authentic and original to ist time of issue.
Considering how hard it is getting to find original watches that are 30 or 40 or more years old, this one offers a rare opportunity. The case is a contemporary 40mm in size, and the bracelet is firm and well executed. While I have never seen this piece live before, I was pleasantly surprised seeing it for the first time. It wears very comfortable on your wrist and does not feel very heavy. In addtion, despite having sat in a safebox for most of its life, this watch has gathered a nice vintage patina on the indices.
Some people are lucky to find such old treasures…
