Parmigiani and the Montreux Jazzfestival

Parmigiani and the Montreux Jazzfestival

The Montreux Jazzfestival is starting tomorrow. Parmigiani Fleurier has been a partner since 2007 and a sponsor of this famous Jazzfestival since 2008 supporting jazz musicians.  In addition, special edition watches are dedicated to the Jazzfestival in Montreux like the one above.

I am going to have the wonderful pleasure to be invited to attend the festival, and I hope to have the privilege high above it all to be able to enjoy rides in Parmigiani’s very own hot air balloon, unmistakable in the brand’s livery.
On stage, in keeping with Claude Nobs’ cherished tradition of offering artists the finest examples of Swiss savoir-faire, around fifteen Parmigiani Kalpa Grande and XL collector’s models, created exclusively for the 2012 festival in a limited edition of just 25 pieces, will once again be presented.

The timepiece produced specially for the Montreux Jazz Festival takes its inspiration, as ever, from the festival poster. This year’s poster, designed by renowned American photographer Greg Gorman, immortalises a male nude in motion which, for him, symbolises “the contemplative experience of listening to music”. The dial features the masculine silhouette, revealed using a delicate material technique: cross brushing. The Kalpa Grande or XL automatic watch (Calibre PF 331 hour, minute, central seconds) is available in two versions: an ivory dial on the women’s model and a black dial on the men’s. On the back of the steel model, the sapphire open case-back is stamped with the Montreux Jazz Festival 2012 logo. (from Pressrelease)
